Analytical and technical validation
To enable laboratory technicians to apply a structured approach to analytical and technical validation in order to detect questionable results, carry out the necessary checks and pass on to the biologist a reliable, complete and traceable file.
Producing a result is not enough. Technicians must check analytical validity, detect technically questionable results and pass on to the biologist a reliable, complete and traceable file.
- distinguish between analytical validation, technical validation and biological validation
- check the conditions required before reviewing an analytical run
- analyse the alarms, indicators and messages produced by the instrument
- check that controls are compliant before reviewing patient results
- detect an inconsistent, improbable or technically questionable result
- use previous results and significant variations
- recognise the main analytical interferences
- carry out the repeats, dilutions or checks provided for in the procedures
- document the actions taken and pass on a secure file to the biologist
- respect the limits of the technician’s responsibility and authorisation level
The detailed programme for this workshop has not been published yet.
This programme is announced: its detailed content will be published shortly.
Provide a certificate of enrolment in a biomedical programme, a copy of a diploma in biomedical analysis, medical biology or a related field, or a professional certificate. A general knowledge of the analytical process is recommended.
- laboratory technicians and technologists
- bench staff
- technical leads
- technicians newly assigned to technical validation
- final-year students and recent graduates
- professionals wishing to make results more secure
This programme strengthens skills and employability; it is not an automatic promise of recruitment.
